Eco Foot Print

The environment is close to our hearts, which is why we have taken a wide range of measures within our means to make our contribution to a greener future.
In summer 2020, we installed a total of 600 solar panels on the roof of our factory building, which can supply a maximum of 195 kW of electricity over an area of 1500m2. The amount of electricity produced by solar radiation is used to power our machines and equipment. If the sun should not shine, we obtain the electricity from a supplier who generates it exclusively without emissions.
In its heat treatment processes, FFS uses the best insulated furnaces of the latest standard to significantly reduce heat loss and thus electricity consumption.
In our plant, employees use recyclable bottles provided for filling free water. Approximately 10 kg of seasonal fruit from regional organic cultivation is provided free of charge to the employees every day.
On rainy days, we can collect up to 20,000 litres of rainwater to reduce our fresh water consumption. The collected water is used for the toilet facilities, for example.
The raw material for our products is purchased according to the new EU “Conflict Minerals” regulation to comply with responsible international sourcing standards, the EU “RoHS” directive to restrict the use of certain hazardous substances and the EU “REACH” regulation to protect human health and the environment against risks from certain chemicals.
Changing rooms and showers are available so that it is also possible to come to work by bike, thus reducing journeys to work by car.
